Airbus will be making its presence felt at the India Aviation 2016 that is being organised in Hyderabad from 16th to 20th March in order to highlight its Make in India footprint. Visitors will be able to find the scale models of A320neo i.e. the world’s most fuel efficient single aisle aircraft, A380 i.e. the world’s most spacious & quiet passenger aircraft and A350 XWB i.e. the largest generation airliner available today; on display at Indian Aviation 2016. Visitors will also find detailed information regarding Airbus’ complete product portfolio.
Along with all this, a customer A380 and A350 XWB aircraft will be on static display for a part of the week. Airbus has 70% market share in the country which definitely makes it India’s aircraft of choice. Airbus is truly at the forefront of the Make in India initiative and fosters long term partnerships with India’s civil aviation sector.

In the year 2015, Airbus’ annual procurement from India had exceeded U$500 million from around 45 suppliers, on a whole employing more than 6000 people. As a result of this every Airbus aircraft that is being produced today is partly made in India. Airbus has now set its target to exceed US$2 billion in cumulative sourcing over the next 5 years up to 2020.
Around 400 engineers work for Airbus in India in core departments like avionics software design and testing, computational fluid dynamics, digital mock-up and structural analysis. Also a specialized team of researchers and engineers is engaged in the development of futuristic technologies in aviation. Two dedicated design centers are being operated by partners in Bengaluru where several more people are employed.
